Maryland History Day is a program of Maryland Humanities. Nearly 31,000 middle and high school students across Maryland participate in this history research project every year.

History Day is an exciting, history-based learning experience for students in grades 6 through 12. In History Day, students learn about issues, ideas, people, and events in history and apply what they have learned through creative and original productions.

Students begin working on their research projects at the start of the school year. District contests take place in February and March, culminating at the statewide Maryland History Day competition in May and finally, National History Day in June. See less
