Runyon Accepts Invite to 2025 Hula Bowl
ORLANDO, Fla. – Towson University's Carter Runyon has accepted an invite to the upcoming 2025 Hula Bowl as he begins his postseason football career.
The news was announced by the Hula Bowl X/Twitter account.
Runyon, an FCS Football Central and STATS Perform Preseason All-American, was also a member of the Reese's Senior Bowl Watch List and the Shrine Bowl 1000 List. Runyon becomes the first Tiger to be on the Hula Bowl roster since Jason Corle in 2000.
The Hula Bowl was established in 1946 and is one of the top college football all-star games in the country. National Football League (NFL), Canadian Football League (CFL) and United Football League (UFL) scouts will be on-hand to watch the prospects of the game.
Runyon finished his Towson career as a two-time All-CAA First Team tight end, the only Tiger tight end to earn All-CAA First Team recognition. This season, he was Towson's leader in receptions with 45 and receiving touchdowns with five, earning his second straight 500+ receiving yard season with 502. He earned multiple receptions in 11 of Towson's 12 games this year.
The 79th Hula Bowl will be played on Saturday, Jan. 11 at noon at the UCF FBC Mortgage Stadium in Orlando, Florida.
