OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Stevenson Field Hockey hosted neighboring McDaniel College this evening in a non-conference matchup on the East Campus. The Mustangs came away with their third 3-0 victory of the year, bringing their overall record to a still-perfect 5-0.
Senior defender Haley Palmer was first on the board for the Mustangs, accounting for her third goal of the season. Credited with assists on the goal were sophomore Lauren Schulz and graduate student Emma Gladstein, who connected on a penalty corner late in the first quarter.
Stevenson registered three shots on goal in the second quarter, but all three were denied by McDaniel's Teaghen Rieder.
It would be first year Coco Wallace to disrupt Rieder's streak early in the third quarter, once again via Schulz. The goal was Wallace's second of the season while the assist was Schulz' third.
With just under five minutes remaining, junior Annie Ingersoll netted her first goal of the season in a solo effort.
Stevenson finished with 17 shots, ten of which landed on goal. McDaniel's lone shot was high. The Mustangs boasted nine penalty corners while the Green Terror did not receive any.
The Mustangs' next contest is scheduled for Wednesday, September 18th at 5 p.m. when they will host St. Mary's (Md.) on the East Campus.
