Towson Men’s Basketball Cruises in Home Opener
TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University men's basketball team hosted the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Mountain Lions in the Tigers' home opener. The Tigers (1-1) picked up an 89-34 victory over the Mountain Lions on Friday night.
Tomiwa Sulaiman led the Tigers with a Towson-high 20 points, shooting 7-of-9 (77.8%) from the floor while making a career-high six three-pointers. Tyler Tejada finished with 15 points all in the first half.

- Towson shot 51.6% from the field while holding the Mountain Lions to 26.5%.
- The Tigers made 14 three-pointers, two off the program record.
- Towson finished with 18 assists while only having eight turnovers.

- The teams traded early baskets, then the Tigers went on a 12-3 run to lead by eight early in the first half.
- The Mountain Lions cut the lead down to four, but a Nendah Tarke three-pointer gave Towson a seven-point advantage halfway through the first.
- The teams exchanged a couple of baskets, then the Tigers closed out the first half on a 21-2 run led by Tyler Tejada's nine points to lead 49-22.
- Towson opened the second half with a 10-0 run, getting three-pointers from Tomiwa Sulaiman and Dylan Williamson.
- Penn State Wilkes-Barre ended their nine-minute drought with a layup with 15:01 remaining.
- A Rahdir Hicks triple sparked a 18-5 run that spanned over eight minutes to extend Towson's lead.
- The Tigers closed out the game with a 12-5 run to win 89-34 over Penn State Wilkes-Barre.

$1 Thursday Beer Nights
The Towson University men's basketball team has announced its promotional schedule for the upcoming season. The Tigers will be hosting 13 regular season home games this campaign.
Towson will host Penn State Wilkes-Barre on Friday, Nov. 8th at 6:00 p.m. for its home opener and Mustache Night to bring awareness to prostate cancer. Patients and survivors of prostate cancer can receive two free tickets to the game. We will be giving away mustaches to the first 250 fans.
The Tigers will give away 1,000 replica basketball jerseys for Black Out on Saturday, Nov. 16th, against James Madison at 8:00 p.m.
The Tigers have Teacher Appreciation Day on Sunday, December 22nd against Bryant at 1:00 p.m. Any elementary, middle, or high school teacher can redeem two free tickets by contacting the ticket office. Towson will also be doing Polar Express Day with everyone receiving free hot cocoa.
The first promo of 2025 is Faculty/Staff Night versus Hofstra on Thursday, Jan. 16th, at 7:00 p.m., then the Tigers will host Stony Brook for Mascot Mania and give away 750 Doc bobbleheads on Saturday Jan. 16th, at 2:00 p.m. Towson will have Dollar Beer Night versus North Carolina A&T on Thursday Jan. 23rd, at 7:00 p.m.
The following promo will be Black History Day against Drexel on Saturday, Feb. 1st, at 2:00 p.m. On Thursday, February 13, Towson will be celebrating Jewish Community Night in collaboration with Towson Hillel against Delaware at 7 p.m. We will also be celebrating Hometown Heroes Night and give away Towson camo hats to the first 750 fans.
The Tigers host Monmouth on Saturday, Feb. 15th, at 2:00 p.m. and give 500 Towson Baseball Jerseys. Towson will host a Battle of the Halls against William & Mary on Thursday, Feb. 27th at 7 p.m. We will be giving away Towson Hockey jerseys to the first 500 fans.
The Tigers will do Autism Awareness and Senior Day against Hampton on Saturday, March 1st at 4:00 p.m. We will be doing a blue autism themed giveaway.
Thirsty Thursdays – This year, for all Thursday night men's basketball games, Towson will be offering $1 beers through the end of the first half.
Towson will be offering Happy Hour deals at the James Madison, UMBC, Stony Brook, Monmouth and Hampton games. The Tigers will be Buy One Get One versus Penn State Wilkes-Barre and Hofstra.
