McCrory, Benson record hat tricks in 7-1 victory over Lebanon Valley

Stevenson Men's Hockey hosted Lebanon Valley College Saturday evening in MAC play. The Mustangs, coming off of a 9-4 win over Alvernia the previous night, carried on with their offensive momentum, putting up another seven goals.

The first period's lone goal was supplied by senior Graeme McCrory with assists going to classmate Evan Beers and sophomore Matt Yeager.

The Mustangs' offensive talent was on full display in the second period, in which they scored five goals.

McCrory scored his second straight while Yeager earned yet another assist and Liam McCanney earned his first.

An unfortunate redirect on the Dutchmen power-play resulted in a goal, but the Mustangs came back strong.

Within a four-minute span, Matt Yeager, Graeme McCrory, and Blake Benson each scored, with Benson notching two and McCrory completing his hat trick.

Benson's first goal was assisted by Aiden Lindley and Jack Karlsson. Yeager had help from McCrory and Nick Dineen before McCrory cited assists from Liam McCanney and Jake Roberts. Benson's second of the night came via Aidan Graham and Jack Costabile.

To round out the evening, Benson completed his hat trick via Graham and Beers on the Mustang power-play, bringing Stevenson's total to seven.

After tonight's scoring spree, Benson leads the Mustangs with 16 goals on the season. McCrory's goal total increases to nine, and Yeager's goal was his second of the year.

In the Mustangs' last four contests, they have scored 24 goals.

In net, junior Ford DeLoss made 20 stops, including 12 in the second period. Sophomore Nathan Kirschenbaum took over in the last eight minutes, notching three saves.

The win puts Stevenson at 15-7-2 overall and 12-6-2 in conference play. The Mustangs have already secured a playoff spot and will round out regular season play on Friday, February 21st against Arcadia on home ice.
