    Hear What Customers Say

We spoke with a few of the customers who stopped by the 2024 book sale. Here’s what they had to say.

Baltimore City resident Erin Maultsby made the trip with her 10-year-old daughter, Eiza. “I come for the prices, and it’s a great selection,” Maultsby said. “I’m interested mostly in books for my daughter.” Eiza selected several books, including ones from the American Girl and Boxcar Children series.

“The literary fiction section is my favorite,” Katie Murray said. “I love essay collections, so that was a highlight for me. The people who donate have amazing taste. I’m so glad you guys do this!” She and Matt Goranson (pictured) were already loaded down with books by the time they made their way to the adult nonfiction tables.

    Where the Money Goes

The Friends of the Towson Library Book Sale hit another new record in 2024, raising more than $21,000. Those funds helped with branch improvements, including paint and new powered tables throughout the library. It also funded several programs, like Baby Craft Time, Black Business Fair and Teen Chill Time, plus other branch needs.

Your amazing support and participation in our annual April Book Sale have made a difference, helping us give the Towson Library the extra love it deserves. By keeping your membership going, you’ll join a lively community of fellow book enthusiasts and community-minded people who are all about improving the library experience and spreading the joy of reading.

Your contributions are key in funding some super exciting programs—think fun reading sessions for kids and teens, plus awesome upgrades to make our library even cozier for those long reading and study sessions.

Thanks to your generosity in 2024, we were able to add:

o New study room tables with built-in power for ultimate convenience

o Two awesome 12-ft laptop bars with power for all your tech needs

o Giant tiles in the children’s section for endless building fun

o Several movie nights that brought everyone together

o Supplies and snacks for our teen music events

o Fun materials and snacks for children’s activities like baby crafts and plant activities

o Beautiful greenery between the computer rows for a little visual refresh

o More plants around the library to brighten things up

In 2025, Friends’ funding will keep the good times rolling with activities for everyone, such as Baby Craft Time, DIY workshops, and so much more.

And guess what? Our BOOK SALE is happening the week of April 9-12, 2025. With last year’s fantastic turnout and great feedback on payment options, we’re excited for another amazing event.
