SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - The Goucher College Gophers traveled to face the Drew University Rangers in the Landmark Conference Championships at the Central PA Tennis Center. This marks the fourth straight tennis final that these two teams meet.

The Gophers secured the first point of the match after winning the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. The No. 1 pairing of Benedikt Rummel and Gabe Naftoly faced Daniel Arcari and Jesse Faro, where they finished 6-1. The No. 3 court favored the Rangers in a 6-3 match, with Ty Gelijns and Josh Kline earning the win over Jackson Beam and Guilherme Moraes. The point came down to the No. 2 doubles pair of Tadeo Asprella and George King where they finished 6-2 against Nicolas Mobayed and Dikshan Chhikara.

The Gophers added the first point in singles play with Calis Nguyen winning in straight sets against his opponent (6-1, 6-2). However, Chhikara added a point for the Rangers shortly after with a 6-3, 6-2 victory on the third court, bringing the match to 2-1.

Shivi Perera won on the No. 5 court, beating Moraes, 7-5, 6-2. On the No. 2 court, Asprella won the Gophers their third point, after coming back to with the first set 7-5, and then finishing the second set 6-1. Just a minute later, Kline beat King in the No. 6 singles match after going into a tiebreaker in the first set 7-6(7-5), 6-1.

With the match tied 3-3, the final point came down to the No. 1 court between Naftoly and Faro. Naftoly came back in the first set to win in a tiebreker 7-6(7-1). However, Faro came rallying back in the second set to win 6-1. Faro forced the third set into a tiebreaker as well, before Naftoly secured the victory 7-6(7-3). The No. 1 match lasted two hours and 27 minutes.

This is the seventh time the Gophers have won the Landmark Conference Championships, maintaining their title from the year prior. Naftoly was also awared the Landmark Men's Tennis Most Valuable Player.
