The historic Hershey Theatre is slated to reopen after months of renovations and improvements.

The Hershey Theatre will be reopening its doors on March 5 after shutting down in January 2025 due to series of construction issues.

“Since its opening in 1933, Hershey Theatre has served as a pillar of cultural enrichment for our community,” Don Papson said, owner of the Hershey Theatre and executive director of The M.S. Hershey Foundation.

The landmark theatre underwent various improvements, including:

  • Completely refurbished heating, ventilation and air conditioning
  • 1,904 new seats
  • New carpeting and LED lighting
  • Improved parking and pedestrian crossing
  • New wi-fi connectivity

“This carefully planned project was a cooperative effort among historic theater consultants, architects and engineers, all working toward the shared goal of completing these essential infrastructure upgrades while honoring the Theatre’s historic character,” Papson said.

The opening night performance at the theatre will include Neil DeGrasse Tyson, followed by multiple comedy shows spearheaded by Jim Jeffries, Steve Martin and Martin Short on March 13 and March 14.
