McCormick Is Launching New Products Just in Time for Summer—and Each One Sounds Better Than the Last

There's no more excuse for a bland meal.

McCormick, Hunt Valley

McCormick has been shaping the flavor game for nearly 140 years. Its team of seasoning savants has spent decades and decades creating spice blends, rubs, extracts, finishing sugars, and so much more. And for home cooks across the country, few brands are more trusted.

Despite the company's age, it's one of the country's most prolific food brands. Hardly a month goes by without a new McCormick product popping up on shelves. In April, the brand introduced its Signature Seasoning line, complete with four new seasoning blends inspired by familiar culinary flavors.

The month prior, McCormick collaborated with Mission BBQ for a new line of tasty, regional sauces. March also saw the introduction of Black Currant Seasoning and Finishing Sugar, in celebration of McCormick's flavor of the year.

McCormick has teamed up with another iconic—albeit much younger—food brand to release four new barbecue sauces just in time for grilling season. Maryland-based Mission BBQ is a fast-growing chain restaurant that celebrates barbecue culture and traditions from all over the country, from Texas to Kansas City and beyond. Thanks to this collaboration with McCormick, customers can now purchase a lineup of regional barbecue sauces from the grocery store.

The sauce line includes four regional flavors that capture the regional intricacies of American barbecue.

  • Memphis Belle: This Tennessee classic is "as smooth as molasses and as sweet as it too," according to Mission BBQ. Slather it on ribs or squeeze it atop a plate of pulled pork for a rich, tangy, slightly smoky, and totally irresistible taste.
  • Blue Ridge Smoky Mountain: "Thick molasses, tangy vinegar, and sweet brown sugar deliver a classic southern richness to pulled pork, chicken, and seafood," says Mission BBQ about this Carolina-inspired sauce.
  • Texas Twang: Everything's bigger in Texas, including the taste of the state's famous barbecue. "A savory blend featuring the tanginess of vinegar and the sweetness of honey and brown sugar creates a steakhouse-like sauce that is ideal for brisket, ribs, and chicken," says Mission BBQ.
  • KC Classic: If Kansas City barbecue is your thing, the KC Classic is for you. "A bold tang, subtle sweetness, and signature heat make this sauce a must-have pantry staple for barbecue lovers," says Mission BBQ. "Famous for its warm blend of spices and rich flavor experience, this Kansas City-style sauce delivers good-to-the-last-drop results every time."

"Bringing our classic American barbeque flavors to more people than ever is an exciting next step for Mission BBQ," said Steve Newton, Co-Founder at Mission BBQ in a press release. "Partnering with another Maryland-based company—and world-renowned flavor house, McCormick—makes this collaboration even more special. Together, we're sharing our bold sauces with barbecue lovers across our country."

The Mission BBQ line of barbecue sauces is online and at retailers across the country in the coming weeks. Pick up a bottle of each and find your new favorite regional barbecue flavors just in time for summer entertaining.

McCormick kicked off the new year with a line of Frank's RedHot Wing & Dipping Sauces, and started looking ahead to grilling season with two new Grill Mates spice blends. The brand is also dipping its toe into co-branding with Harry Potter and Bridgerton products that fans can't get enough of.

Now, McCormick is introducing not one, not two, but seven new products all at once—plus five returning favorites. There's something for everyone—sweet, salty, spicy, smoky, fruity—you want it, they've got it. So make some space in your spice cabinet, you're going to want each and every one of these tasty salts and sugars.
