Ravens-Commanders stock report: Joe Fagnano shines, Tyler Loop struggles
By Nikhil Mehta, Dustin Cox, and Zach Canter, Baltimore Beatdown
The Baltimore Ravens thoroughly trounced the Washington Commanders on Friday night, taking home their straight preseason victory by a score of 41-3. Here is Baltimore Beatdown’s instant stock report with final roster cuts less than 48 hours away:
The undrafted rookie quarterback continues to make a case for the Ravens to carry three quarterbacks on the 53-man roster. Fagnano’s poise in the pocket and ability to go through progressions has been truly impressive this preseason, especially when you consider his lack of reps for much of training camp. Fagnano finishes his first preseason having completed 56 of his 75 passes for 509 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception, plus a QB sneak for a score tonight . That’s good for a 74.7% completion rate, 6.7 yards per attempt, and a 100 passer rating. Now we wait to see if his play forces Baltimore to stray from their usual roster approach. – Dustin Cox
The veteran made a strong case for a practice squad spot with Baltimore at the least with three receptions on the opening drive, including an impressive touchdown catch. Moore has always been good on special teams and is a fine wide receiver in a pinch, making him an ideal candidate for the practice squad. – Dustin Cox
While Ward doesn’t have a shot of making the 53-man roster, his impressive game against the Commanders could help him potentially land a spot on the practice squad. The veteran back displayed nice burst on several runs throughout the night, including a touchdown. – Dustin Cox
If the Raven’s wanted to feel confident only carrying three running backs and cutting Rasheen Ali, Randall certainly made his case. Randall finished the day doing it all, averaging 5.0 yards a carry on five attempts while also adding 45 yards on three catches, including a 24 yard screen play where he stiff armed somebody and bounced their head off the grass like a ball. We’ll have to wait and see how the running back room shakes out but whether its three or four backs, Randall has earned himself a small role. – Zach Canter
