Reid Wiseman To Receive Honorary Baltimore County Street Sign as Dulaney Celebrates Hometown Astronaut with Homecoming Parade

WHAT:

Dulaney High School will celebrate hometown hero and Cockeysville native Reid Wiseman with a homecoming parade, remarks and the dedication of an honorary street sign, in his name, recognizing his historic journey aboard NASA’s Artemis II mission.

County Executive Kathy Klausmeier will join Wiseman along the parade route and deliver remarks at the conclusion of the parade. The new honorary Reid Wiseman Street sign will be presented to Wiseman after the parade and an unveiling will happen following her remarks.

WHY:

Wiseman, who grew up in Cockeysville and graduated from Dulaney High School in 1993, commanded Artemis II, NASA’s historic crewed lunar flyby mission in April 2026. The nearly 10-day mission marked the first crewed flight around the Moon since 1972, with the four-person crew traveling farther from Earth than any humans in history.

The celebration honors Wiseman’s historic achievement and his enduring connection to the Baltimore County community where he grew up.
