Towson Football Hosts Record Crowd But Falls in The Battle For Greater Baltimore

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University football team looked to come back with three second half passing touchdowns but fell short to Morgan State 41-26 in The Battle For Greater Baltimore in front of 10,900 at Johnny Unitas® Stadium.

Towson (0-4) looked to rally down 18 in the second half and used 365 yards of passing to look to come back, but Morgan State (3-1) had 17 points in each the second and fourth quarters to win the game.

Tonight's crowd of 10,900 is the largest regular season crowd in Towson football history. Tonight was only surpassed by Towson's playoff game vs. Lehigh on Dec. 3, 2011 with an attendance of 11,196.

Key Stats

Towson outgained Morgan State on offense with 426 yards to Morgan's 369. Most came in the air for the Tigers with 365 yards to Morgan's 246 passing yards. Towson also had a 36:46 time of possession to Morgan's 23:14.
Morgan State's defense had five sacks, blocked a field goal attempt and intercepted a pass in the end zone in the fourth quarter.
Andrew Indorf passed 76.7% on 33-for-43, having 365 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. His primary target was Aaron Enterline, having seven catches for 92 yards and two touchdowns. Kemarrion Battles rushed eight times for 37 yards.
Defensively, Weston Woodard tallied up five tackles with a strip sack and fumble recovery, also breaking a pass up. Seth Chestnut led the team with eight tackles.
For Morgan State, Cameron Edge was 14-for-23 with 209 yards and two touchdowns while Jordan Barnett ran 15 times for 71 yards and a score. Keith Jenkins Jr. had a 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Dylan Davis led the Bears with 10 tackles.

Key Situations

1st quarter: Weston Woodard forced a strip sack on Morgan's opening possession, also recovering the ball to start Towson on the Morgan 7, where a 25-yard Zaydaan Faridi field goal gave Towson an early lead. The other way, Morgan started a drive on the Towson 43 and scored on a 6-yard touchdown pass to Marquez Spells. Morgan led 7-3 after one.
2nd quarter: Morgan scored quickly into the second with a three-yard rushing touchdown from Jordan Barnett. Having another short field, Cameron Edge found Joseph Towler in the end zone for a 40-yard pass and another touchdown for a 21-3 lead three minutes into the period. A nine-minute drive gave Towson a field goal, matched by a final Morgan drive to end the quarter as the Bears led 24-6.
3rd quarter: After an exchange of drives, three passes of over 13 yards led to a Towson touchdowns with an 18-yard pass to Aaron Enterline to make it 24-13 Morgan. Towson had another scoring chance, but a 23-yard field goal attempt was blocked.
4th quarter: Into the fourth, catches of 36 yards and 37 yards, the latter on a wide receiver pass, to Justin Perry gave the Bears another touchdown in the opening minutes. Andrew Indorf's air attack got the points right back with a 40-yard catch by Enterline, but Keith Jenkins Jr. returned a kickoff for a touchdown to make it 38-20 Bears. Towson got one more touchdown back on a short pass to CJ Schaeffer, with Morgan adding a field goal on the next drive. Towson attempted another drive in the air, but an interception in the end zone effectively ended the game.

Inside the Numbers

Towson earns its first 300+ passing yard game of the season. It is the first time a Towson quarterback has thrown for over 300 yards in a game since Sean Brown threw for 306 yards at Norfolk State on Oct. 12, 2024.
Andrew Indorf's 365 passing yards is the most for a Towson quarterback in a single game since Tom Flacco threw for 372 yards vs. James Madison on Nov. 17, 2018.
Aaron Enterline has caught at least one touchdown in all four Towson games this season. He also earns Towson's first multi-touchdown game of the season.
This defeat snapped an eight-game winning streak for Towson vs. Morgan State. Towson still leads the all-time series 24-7.
