COCKEYSVILLE MANHUNT LEADS

Image

This incident is very fluid as the showdown between police officers from various jurisdictions and the 24-old man played out, following a long back-road chase in a stolen cop car from Baltimore to Harford County.

It started in Cockeysville and has made its way to Fallston after midnight. This suspect is accused of shooting two Baltimore County officers.

As of this morning he is surrounded near Mountain and Bel Air Roads.

Please keep up to date with local 24-hour news and shelter in place as requested.

The latest shooting occured during a wild chase with the police car and into Fallston.

Many are reminded of the Joe Palcynski hostage situation that occured in 2000 and ended in 4 dead.  I was watching CNN living in DC that day and saw this stand-off happening on Elton Avenue in Dundalk, where I grew up years earlier.  This was a hostage situation and somewhat different than the search and chase that we had here.  It was however, reminiscent.

WJZ and WBAL have been providing great coverage but the best coverage is from Fox 45 here:
