Old Bay Butter Lands In MD Stores Thanks To Famous Seafood Restaurant

From vodka to bagel chips to Goldfish crackers, it seems like McCormick and Co. has thought of all the best foods to pair with the company's iconic Old Bay seasoning — but it's simply not true.

Jimmy's Famous Seafood revealed a collaboration incorporating the Baltimore staple that is dipping and drizzling perfection: Old Bay butter.

"We're beyond thrilled to unveil our sizzling collaboration with @OLDBAYSeasoning, introducing our dynamic duo: OLD BAY Honey Butter and OLD BAY Garlic Butter," the restaurant posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

We'll take 2o cases, please.

In all seriousness, Old Bay has teamed up with other companies in the past to create some unique and tasty collaborations.

In May, after fervent fan requests and pleas on Twitter, McCormick and Pepperidge Farm teamed up to re-release a Goldfish cracker featuring Old Bay's signature blend of 18 herbs and spices.

In 2022, the company also partnered with Maryland-based George's Beverage Company to create Old Bay vodka, a perfect pairing for their previous collab, Old Bay Bloody Mary mix.

In a news release obtained by the Baltimore Banner, Tony Minadakis, executive chef and co-owner of Jimmy’s Famous Seafood, said his goal is to keep Old Bay butter "as natural as possible."

On Jimmy's website, the garlic butter is described as "a flavorful blend that unites the iconic tastes of the East Coast with the savory richness of garlic." Meanwhile, the honey butter is a "sweet yet savory fusion."

Both products are currently for sale online for $6 each. They can also be found at select retailers across the Baltimore region.
