Timonium, Maryland, United States--Smyth Jewelers unveiled a giant engagement ring, a 17-foot tall, 14-foot wide structureconstructed of polished stainless steel and acrylic and modeled after an actual setting made by Los Angeles-based Uneek jewelry; the ring, which sets the world record for being the World's Largest Engagement Ring, according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY, will permanently rest outside its store in Timonium, Maryland, United States.

"Smyth Jewelers unveiled what it is playfully touting as the world’s largest engagement ring--a 17-foot tall, 14-foot wide structure that will permanently rest outside its store in Timonium, Md. The ring is constructed of polished stainless steel and acrylic and is modeled after an actual setting made by Los Angeles-based Uneek jewelry," the National Jeweler says.

"It took more than a year to fabricate and install and while the exact cost is not being revealed, pieces of art/sculpture of this scale cost in the low six-figures to design and build. The big piece of bling has not been officially verified as the “world’s largest engagement ring” via sources such as Guinness Book of World Records, however Smyth did note that it is not aware of anything else like it in the world.

"The giant piece of bridal jewelry has a number of advantages for Smyth, which has three stores in Maryland, in Timonium (where the ring’s located), Annapolis and Ellicott City, and has been in business since 1914. It emphasizes the store’s mission as the place “where Maryland gets engaged,” serving as a symbol to all those couples Smyth has helped in its 101-year history as well as the future couples it hopes to serve. The giant ring also is a great spot for taking pictures in a time when selfies and social media sharing are all the rage."

"Smyth Jewelers, the largest jewelry retailer on the East Coast, and Uneek Fine Jewelry have taken the engagement ring to a whole new level of big. How big is big, you ask? The ring stands 17 feet tall and measures 14 feet wide. The world's largest engagement ring will have a permanent home outside of Smyth's Timonium, MD showroom," the official Press Release says.

""Smyth is known for being 'where Maryland gets engaged'," said Smyth CEO Mark Motes. "This ring is a symbol and a testament to all the couples we've helped with their engagements, weddings and milestones, and all those future couples we hope to serve."

"The ring is modeled after a Uneek Jewelry design and took over a year to fabricate and install. It was officially unveiled to the public on October 15, 2015 at Smyth's 2020 York Road location in Timonium, MD. After the official unveiling, Smyth and Uneek invite all those who believe in the power of love to visit the ring, take photos and maybe even pop the question.

"Established in 1914, Smyth Jewelers is where Maryland gets engaged. Smyth's three Maryland showrooms in Timonium, Annapolis and Ellicott City feature the largest selection of bridal sets, engagement rings and loose diamonds on the East Coast. Smyth prides itself on big selection and providing the best in customer service with a knowledgeable, non-commissioned staff.

"Established in 1996, Uneek Fine Jewelry has emerged as an unparalleled standard in fine diamond jewelry. The reasons will be evident once you see and experience the extraordinary detail, intricate workmanship and breathtaking designs in their extensive bridal, color and fashion collections."

"When Albert Smyth opened a jewelry store in 1914 Baltimore, he didn’t expect his surname would be loved a century later, but 100+ years of hard work paved the way for the store you see today," the smythjewelers.com says.

"Now operated by the fourth generation of the family, Smyth is synonymous with high quality and honest service across the country. As the company has grown from a local favorite to a national gem, so has its breathtaking selection of engagement rings, wedding bands, fine jewelry and giftware for all occasions. Despite this rise, the company has never lost sight of its roots, continually volunteering time and donating profits back to the community that built us.

Smyth’s standard of excellence is evident whether you visit one of their three Maryland locations or peruse their inventory online. With elegant pieces from luxury brands like Tacori and Simon G to approachable favorites from Anna Beck and Kendra Scott. Whichever way you choose, you will always Feel The Love."

"When Smyth Jewelers launched its “How Big Is Big?” campaign in 2014, the Maryland-based (3 stores: Baltimore, Timonium and Annapolis) retail jeweler’s CEO Mark Motes never imagined that the enduring rhetorical marketing query would have a single, quantitative answer just over a year later: 17 feet by 14 feet," the Southern Jewelry News says.

"These are the measurements of the world’s largest engagement ring in front of Smyth Jewelers’ Timonium store. At 17 feet tall and 14 feet wide, the giant stainless steel ring is just as much sculpted art as it is a symbol of couples’ enduring love and the store’s long-term commitment to serving them.

"To add visual interest to the big ring, and to give it more of a sculptural, artistic appeal, Allan and his team decided to slightly lean the top portion of the big ring towards the store’s commanding façade. The world’s largest engagement ring is not only part of the Timonium store’s permanent architectural landscape, it has made an indelible imprint on all marketing and promotional materials, from digital to print. “It was prominently displayed in our 2015 holiday catalog,” says Mark."

"The landmark ring is modelled after a Uneek Jewellery design and took over a year to fabricate and install. It was officially unveiled to the public on October 15, 2015 at Smyth's 2020 York Road location in Timonium, MD. After the official unveiling, Smyth and Uneek invite all those who believe in the power of love to visit the ring, take photos and maybe even pop the question," the Diamond World says.

"As Smyth CEO Mark Motes say, "Smyth is known for being 'where Maryland gets engaged. This ring is a symbol and a testament to all the couples we've helped with their engagements, weddings and milestones, and all those future couples we hope to serve."

"Smyth Jewellers — “Where Maryland gets engaged” — spent a year working with Uneek Jewellery to create the ultimate engagement ring: a 17-by-14-foot solitaire now propped up outside one of its suburban Baltimore stores. Smyth’s, which says it’s the world’s largest engagement ring, christened its new icon with a two-day promotion in which engagement-ring purchasers received a free pair of diamond earrings."

"Smyth Jewelers, the largest jewelry retailer on the East Coast and Uneek Fine Jewelry, have together created the world’s largest engagement ring," the idexonline.com says.

"The ring, which stands 17 feet tall and 14 feet wide will have a permanent home outside Smyth's Timonium, Maryland showroom. The ring is modelled on a Uneek ring design, and took more than a year to fabricate and install.

"Smyth is known for being 'where Maryland gets engaged," said Smyth CEO Mark Motes. "This ring is a symbol and a testament to all the couples we've helped with their engagements, weddings and milestones, and all those future couples we hope to serve."
