REISTERSTOWN, Md. - Stevenson Men's Hockey bounced back from last night's series opening loss to Wilkes, which ended in overtime after regulation ended with a three-goal tie. In today's senior day matchup, the Mustangs bounced back for a 3-2 victory, securing their position as the number two seed in the upcoming UCHC playoffs and breaking the previous program record of 18 wins in a single season.

Though the first period concluded with a scoreless draw, the Mustangs would go two-for-three on power-plays in the second. Junior Aidan Graham found the back of the net through a screen for his first goal of the season just minutes into the period, citing assists from sophomore Blake Benson and senior Zach Bannister.

Bannister, Benson, and Graham switched roles on the Mustangs' second power-play goal, with Bannister scoring and Benson and Graham assisting. Graham's two points put him at 10 on the season while Bannister and Benson are at 25 and 26 points, respectively.

Wilkes capitalized on a power-play of their own late in the period, shifting the offensive momentum. To begin the third, the Colonels tied the game.

Junior Liam McCanney proved to be the hero of the evening, notching his sixth game-winning goal of the season, converting passes from line mates John Musella and Matt Yeager. The goal was McCanney's 20th of the season. Musella's assist was his 11th and Yeager's his eighth.

In net for the Mustangs, junior Ty Outen recorded 29 saves, including 13 in the second period. The win was his 17th of the season, and he boasts a 1.75 goals against average and a .946 save percentage with 699 saves.

Ending the regular-season with a win puts the Mustangs at a historic 19-5-1, breaking the previous single-season wins record of 18, which has been matched several times. With a 15-4-1 UCHC record, the Mustangs total 48 points and cannot be surpassed by any team below them. Stevenson has locked in the No. 2 seed in the UCHC tournament, following first-seeded Utica University.
