People of interest in the Towson Town Center stabbing were detained, police said. Several minors are accused of attacking a man in a garage.

TOWSON, MD — Authorities said they identified and detained people of interest in last week's stabbing at the Towson Town Center.

"Officers have identified persons of interest in reference to last night's assault in Towson," the Baltimore County Police Department said. "Detectives are working to determine the detainees' roles in the crime."

The victim was stabbed Wednesday evening in one of the mall's parking garages, police said.

Officers said a witness drove the victim to a hospital. He is expected to survive what authorities called "a non-life-threatening laceration."

Police have since partnered with local businesses to search security cameras for clues.

"Detectives have conducted interviews throughout the day and worked closely with business partners and the Towson Chamber of Commerce to gather any potential evidence from area surveillance cameras," Baltimore County police said Thursday, noting that there would be extra officers around. "The Department is also requesting residents who may have video footage of the incident to contact 410-307-2020."

Authorities said they were called for a fight in progress in the 800 block of Dulaney Valley Road around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday.

The victim told officers that a group of male and female minors tried to take his property while inside the mall. He reported that the suspects then followed him to the garage where they assaulted him.

Tipsters can submit information through the county's iWATCH program at iwatch.baltimorecountymd.gov.
