TRAILER, TRASH TRUCK

TIMONIUM, Md. — A trash truck became embedded inside the trailer of an 18-wheeler on the morning of Thursday, June 6, along Interstate 83 in Timonium, Maryland.

According to the Baltimore County Volunteer Firefighter’s Association, one person was extricated from the trash truck and transported to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center by Maryland State Police Aviation.

At 0523 hrs, Engine 441 and Squad 442 were alerted for a motor vehicle collision with rescue on I-83 between Belfast & Mt. Carmel Roads. Both units, along with a full rescue assignment, responded promptly but, after checking the dispatched location, Fire Dispatch informed units that the incident was on I-83 just north of I-695.Squad 442 arrived shortly after EMS 7 and Engine 302, who reported a trash truck into the back of a tractor trailer with the driver heavily entrapped in the trash truck. 

Units successfully extricated a single patient after approximately 90 minutes. The patient was transported to Shock Trauma by Trooper 1.  ALL LANES OF I-83 AT I-695 CLOSED
