Equestrian Extends Region Lead at American/Georgetown Show
BURTONSVILLE, Md. - The Goucher College equestrian team finished as the Reserve High Point Team at the IHSA show hosted by American University and Georgetown University at Spring Hill Stables on Saturday.
With Saturday's finish, the Gophers extended their lead in the IHSA Zone IV, Region I standings to 33 points. In the 12-team region, Goucher leads second-place Towson and third place University of Maryland.
Hope Verschleiser placed first in Open Fences and took fourth in Open Flat. Adriana Hardin and Estella Smith each finished first in Limit Fences. Sues Hardee took down first in Limit Flat, while Christina Whiteman was first in Novice Flat.
Jacob Connell finished second in Open Flat and fourth in Intermediate Fences. Zoe Wright-Riley registered a third-place finish in Limit Flat, with Alana Acker finishing fifth in Intro.
Goucher is idle until Saturday, November 9, when it hosts its third IHSA show of the fall at the Goucher stables.
