OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Stevenson Field Hockey hosted Widener University on the East Campus this afternoon in their homecoming matchup. Widener's late offensive push was shut down by sophomore goalkeeper Jordan Vradenburgh, who made six saves to bring her career total to 102.

It took less than two minutes for Stevenson to get on the board thanks to graduate student Emma Gladstein, who weaved through several Widener players to get her shot off.

Though Widener would score minutes later to tie the game, Gladstein was quick to help the Mustangs regain the lead. She scored her 18th goal of the season in another solo effort, bringing her point total to 44 on the year.

Late in the second quarter, the Mustangs would extend their lead to 3-1 after sophomore Ellie Bailey netted her second goal of the season off of a penalty corner, with seniors Haley Palmer and Nicole Ziegler earning assists for the setup.

Widener only had two shots on goal in the first three quarters, the first of which was stopped by Vradenburgh and the second came from a defensive save by sophomore Monica Druckemiller.

With the Pride desperate to catch up in the fourth, the Mustangs fought through nine Widener penalty corners through which they got off six shots on goal. Vradenburgh stood tall for five saves, the fourth of which accounted for the hundredth of her career and 57th of the season.

The win puts the Mustangs at 12-2-1 overall and a perfect 3-0 in the MAC Commonwealth. They look to extend their streak to four next Wednesday, October 23rd when they travel to St. David's, Pa. for a matchup against the Eastern Eagles. The Mustangs then return home for a Saturday matchup against No. 20 Messiah.
