This filing marks a critical step in their effort to construct a high-voltage transmission line through our communities.

The Maryland PSC has released the following statement:
PSEG Renewable Transmission LLC has filed an application today(12/31) with the Maryland Public Service Commission seeking authority to construct the Maryland Piedmont Reliability Project (MPRP), a high-voltage transmission line, in the state.
PSEG has applied for what is known as a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN), which, if granted, authorizes an applicant to construct an energy generating station or high-voltage transmission line in Maryland.

Comments received before the case's filing will be added to the public comments file of the docketed case so that the Commission has the benefit of the public's views.
The Commission is expected to soon issue a notice of pre-hearing conference, in which the procedural schedule in this case will be set, and the Commission will consider petitions to intervene and other matters. The Commission's process going forward will include public hearings, held by the Commission, in the counties where the project is proposed to be constructed. The Commission will provide notice of its hearings and other proceedings on its website (psc.state.md.us), in the docket for Case No. 9773, and through the news media and social media channels.
