TOWSON'S MIKEY WEISSHAAR SELECTED AS 2025 TEWAARATON TROPHY NOMINEE

The Tewaaraton Foundation has announced that Towson University junior Mikey Weisshaar has been selected as a 2025 Tewaaraton Trophy nominee.

Weisshaar is one of 25 men's players across the country named as a Tewaaraton Trophy nominee. He is the first Towson player to be honored as a Tewaaraton nominee since Zach Goodrich and Alex Woodall were selected in 2019.

He was one of the original players on the 2025 Tewaaraton Watch List as well as was the USA Lacrosse Preseason Midfielder of the Year and Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Preseason Player of the Year.

Starting all 11 games this year, Weisshaar is Towson's leader in goals with 34, adding 13 assists for 47 points. The three-time CAA Offensive Player of the Week ranks in the top-20 nationally in goals and points per game and has scored multiple goals in nine contests this year.

Later, the foundation will select five finalists among the 25 nominees, who will be brought to Washington, D.C. for the Tewaaraton Trophy ceremony on Thursday, May 29 at the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian.
