Baltimore County Restaurant Opening 3 New Locations
This family-owned restaurant group is opening three new locations in Maryland. The eateries will be in Ocean City, Towson and Sykesville.
OCEAN CITY, MD — A family-owned restaurant group is opening three more locations across Maryland.
Owner John Liberatore announced on May 22 that Liberatore's is opening in Ocean City. He anticipates opening by early August on 130th Street in the Montego Bay Market shopping center.
"It's gonna be a small cozy wine bar with small plates and some of the favorite Liberatore's entrees & craft cocktails," John Liberatore said on Facebook.
The Ocean City restaurant will span 2,700 square feet and seat about 100 customers, The Baltimore Sun reported.
The Sun said the location has been in planning for about 15 years.
"We always had a soft spot for Ocean City," John Liberatore told The Sun, adding that he worked in the beach town as a server in the 1980s. "People are always asking us, 'Why don't you open a place in Ocean City?'"
Sister restaurant Lib's Grill said it plans to open in Towson.
The Towson location will be in Court Towers. That's located at 210 W. Pennsylvania Avenue across from the county Circuit Courthouse, The Sun reported. The Sun said Lib's will replace Nalley Fresh, which opened there in 2019.
"We're expanding, and it's going to be epic! Get ready for a new chapter in the Liberatore's story," the restaurant group said Saturday on Facebook.
Lib's Grill is also opening in the Historic Train Station of Sykesville. That project is facing delays, but it's still well underway.
"It's a complex process to preserve the beauty and integrity of such a historic building while retrofitting it for a well-designed restaurant," Co-Owner Dante Liberatore wrote on Facebook in October 2024. "We are investing a lot of time and capital to create a space we can all be proud to have in our community."
Liberatore's debuted in Eldersburg in 1988. The Italian restaurant has since added locations in Bel Air, Perry Hall, Timonium and Westminster.
The Timonium location also houses a Liquid Lib's wine bar that opened in 2014.
Lib's Grill launched in 2013. It now serves seafood and steak in Bel Air, Maple Lawn and Perry Hall.
Lib's also offers catering.
The Liberatore family immigrated to the U.S. from Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1974.
