Public Input Sought in Police Department’s “Drones as First Responder” Program
The Baltimore County Police Department invites members of the public to attend an upcoming community input meeting regarding the proposed Drones as First Responder (DFR) program. This initiative, which is designed to complement the Department’s existing Aviation Team, aims to enhance public safety and emergency response capabilities through the strategic deployment of unmanned aerial systems (UAS).
As part of the Department’s ongoing commitment to transparency and community collaboration, attendees will be able to see the technology up close, with live demonstrations. Representatives from the Department will be on hand to answer questions, explain operational procedures, and gather community input. The meeting will provide an overview of how the DFR program would operate, guidelines on usage, and safeguards to protect privacy.
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Sollers Point Multi-Purpose Center, 323 Sollers Point Rd., Dundalk MD.
