Announcing a facility redesign, clothing giveaway, upcoming shopping dates, and more!
By Team BCPS
The Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools, Inc., has not one, but two educator resource centers – the Exchangerees – where BCPS teachers can shop once per month at no cost to themselves for basic school supplies, classroom resources, and many other treasures to help keep their students and school communities prepared, healthy, and engaged in learning. Read on for all the amazing things going on at the Exchangerees in the second quarter of the 2025-2026 school year.
The foundation is partnering with Lowe's, American Design Associates, GWWO, Merritt Properties, Whiting-Turner, Studio R Designs, and more generous partners to redesign the interior of the Exchangeree in Windsor Mill.
The purpose of the redesign is to enhance the shopping experience for our educators and to provide a large open space for experiential learning and interactive professional development – including free yoga classes for BCPS educators. The transformation will take place in November 2025. Stay tuned for more information.
The Education Foundation has received a donation of $55,000 worth of brand-new clothes from Media Star Promotions.
Distribution of the clothing items will take place on Wednesday, November 5, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the BCPS Logistics Warehouse (9611 Pulaski Park Dr., Suite 301, Baltimore 21220). Community school facilitators are welcome to shop on behalf of their school communities. They must register, on or before Friday, October 31, for a time slot. Please note that warehouse visitors must wear closed-toe shoes.
All BCPS educators are welcome to shop once per month at one of the foundation’s two Exchangerees. Please bring your BCPS ID and bags/boxes for your adopted treasures. Below are some upcoming shopping dates. More can be found online.

Keeping the shelves of the foundation’s two educator resource centers stocked all year takes a village. Thank you to our generous donors who clean out their offices, closets, and classrooms and donate gently used and new items and to the generous sponsors of our fundraising events who provide monetary donations to help us keep the shelves stocked. You, too, can help! Here’s how:
Give a "high five" to the foundation | The Education Foundation will celebrate its 33rd birthday on Sunday, October 26! In honor of our birth year, 1992, we have set a goal to raise more than $1,992 between 12:01 a.m. on Sunday, October 19, and 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, by soliciting $5 donations from 399 patrons of the Exchangerees. Calling all BCPS educators: Please say “thank you” to our generous donors and help us keep our shelves stocked for you by giving the foundation a “high five”!
Join the Giving Tuesday movement | Giving Tuesday is a worldwide campaign to eschew consumerism and celebrate generosity by encouraging donations to favorite causes the first Tuesday following Thanksgiving. This year, the foundation seeks $100 donations from 50 BCPS community members to raise $5,000 in the 24 hours between 12:01 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, December 2. All funds raised will go toward the foundation’s Share the Warmth & Joy Campaign. Community members, please consider demonstrating your commitment to the warmth, health, and joy of our students by donating on Giving Tuesday.
Contribute to our End-of-Year Giving Campaign | The end of the year marks a time for reflection and an opportunity to pay your good fortune forward while enjoying a tax break. This year, the foundation is looking to engage 10 new businesses in the support of our mission-driven work by soliciting $1,000 donations to help us meet our goal of raising $10,000 from new donors before Wednesday, December 31. Join our support network of community partners by donating to our mission-driven work.
