Reading, Pa. (October 22) – The Stevenson women's volleyball team punched its ticket to the MAC Commonwealth playoffs Tuesday night with a commanding 3-0 sweep over Alvernia (26-24, 25-11, 25-16). The win keeps the Mustangs perfect in conference play at 5-0 and improves their overall record to 13-9 on the season.

Set 1:
The opening frame was a back-and-forth battle featuring nine ties and three lead changes. Stevenson found itself in tight exchanges early, but key swings from Giulia Viglietta and Autumn Henry kept the Mustangs within striking distance. Late in the set, Logan Burge and Viglietta combined for clutch kills before a block by Henry and Lillianna Hornickle sealed the 26-24 win.
Set 2:
The second set belonged entirely to Stevenson. After taking a slim 3-2 lead, the Mustangs exploded behind a dominant service run from Lilly Eichelberger, who delivered six service aces during a 12-0 stretch. Viglietta and Burge added multiple kills through the middle of the run, while Declyn Tooze orchestrated the offense with precise sets. The Mustangs cruised to a 25-11 victory to take a commanding 2-0 match lead.
Set 3:
Stevenson continued its momentum in the third, jumping out to an early lead thanks to service aces from Tooze and Isabella Terra. Burge and Henry kept the Golden Wolves on their heels with efficient swings, while the block of Mykiah Williams and Viglietta slowed Alvernia's attack. Tooze once again controlled the pace with timely distribution, finding Burge for the match-clinching kill to close out the 25-16 win and the sweep.
With the sweep, Stevenson officially clinches a berth in the MAC Commonwealth Tournament and will return home on Saturday, October 25, looking to carry the momentum into their tri-match with Lynchburg and Rutgers-Camden. The Mustangs will face Lynchburg at 2:30 p.m., followed by a 6:30 p.m. match up against Rutgers-Camden. The final match of the night will honor the team's two seniors.
