Maple Syrup Festival

Join the Friends of Cunningham Falls and Gambrill State Parks during the middle two weekends of March annually for the largest fundraising event of the year. For over 50 years, the staff of Cunningham Falls and the volunteers that support the park complex join together for the month of March to celebrate the Sugaring traditions of the Appalachian Mountains.

Sap to syrup boil demonstrations detail the process for you on the hour, every hour. A traditional pancake breakfast allows you to sample the Maryland-made syrup that is for sale in the park. There’s plenty more for your family to do to start a tradition of your own!

Catoctin Mountain Park preserves 5,890 acres of hardwood forest in the Blue Ridge Mountains, just outside of Washington, D.C., and Baltimore, Maryland. For decades the park has served as a respite from the city, offering over 25 miles of hiking trails, opportunities for rock-climbing, fishing, campsites, cabin-camps, and more! In addition to recreation and natural preservation, the park preserves historic sites and artifacts left behind by Indigenous peoples, European settlers, and the Civilian Conservation Corps. MORE INFO HERE
