Baltimore County Government to be Open on Wednesday with Liberal Leave in Effect

TOWSON, MD — Baltimore County government offices will be open on time on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, with liberal leave in effect for the day.

Employees who are authorized to telework may do so with supervisor approval. Emergency and essential employees must report on time.

Trash and recycling collection will continue and follow a slide schedule, with Wednesday pickups taking place on Thursday, and all remaining collections shifting one day later than usual for the week. Drop-off facilities will be open.

Operation of the Towson Loop and CountyRide service will begin at 10 a.m. Senior centers will be open, and Recreation and Parks facility and programming information will be updated here: https://www.baltimorecountymd.gov/departments/recreation

County freezing weather shelters remain activated. Additionally, the temporary shelter at Stembridge community center will remain open until Sunday. Wednesday’s District 5 budget town hall will be held virtually, and information will be shared today.

Those who have parked in Baltimore County Revenue Authority’s Towson garages should remove their cars by the end of the day to ensure that parking remains free of charge.
