SIX BRIDGE TRAIL PROJECT

Baltimore County just secured $500,000 in state funding to help construct the Six Bridge Trail in Towson! This nature trail will connect a series of “pocket parks” along the Herring Run, from Stevenson Lane to Radebaugh Park.

The project includes a stream restoration plan that will help prevent flooding in adjacent neighborhoods, as well as erosion. The Six Bridge Trail Project has been years in the making, led by Shannon McDonald and Lauren Stranahan from the Green Towson Alliance and the Knollwood Green Team, plus many other volunteers.

Special thanks also to Baltimore County Councilman David Marks, who helped get this project off the ground and has worked closely with these volunteers. I spoke with County Executive Johnny Olszewski last night to share my good news, and he couldn’t be more excited. He’s been a real champion of making the trail a reality. It’s happening!
