Cockeysville Teen Graduates from CCBC Essex at Age 16

Essex, MD — Jai Nettles, a standout student-athlete from Cockeysville, has achieved an extraordinary milestone—graduating from the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) Essex campus at just 16 years old.

Nettles earned an Associate of Arts in General Studies with honors, completing 61 college credits while maintaining his coursework at Dulaney High School. He graduated cum laude, was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, and was recognized as both a Mellon Scholar and an Honors Program Graduate at CCBC.

In addition to his academic achievements, Jai is an All‑State football player and a state‑level hurdler in track and field—showcasing a rare blend of intellectual prowess and athletic excellence.

Jai has his sights set on genetic engineering and is in the process of applying to leading universities nationwide. His drive, discipline, and early accomplishments mark the beginning of what promises to be a transformative future.
