17 BCPS students named 2023 Carson Scholars
Eight Hunt Valley area and seventeen Baltimore County Public Schools students are among the 482 students nationwide named 2023 Carson Scholars by the Carson Scholars Fund.
Each year, the Carson Scholars Fund recognizes a select group of high-achieving students in Grades 4–11 who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement (at least a 3.75 GPA) and humanitarian qualities.
The honored BCPS students for 2023 are:
- Seth Aguirre, Grade 5, Woodholme Elementary School
- Swostika Amgain, Grade 5, Rossville Elementary School
- Akiva Bar Am, Grade 5, Wellwood International School
- Olivia Bisson, Grade 11, Towson High School
- Luis Cáceres‐Gutiérrez, Grade 11, Dundalk High School
- Leah Cirrincione, Grade 11, George Washington Carver Center for Arts and Technology
- Talia Greenstein, Grade 8, Pikesville Middle School
- Emma Gutberlet, Grade 5, Bedford Elementary School
- Lila Kumar, Grade 5, Mays Chapel Elementary School
- Brittany Lidard, Grade 5, Harford Hills Elementary School
- Hailey Mychailyszyn, Grade 5, Sparks Elementary School
- Emma Park, Grade 11, Hereford High School
- Kamila Sahibova, Grade 5, Summit Park Elementary School
- Aarti Srinivas, Grade 11, Western School of Technology & Environmental Science
- Riya Mahale, Grade 11, Dulaney High School
- Kahori Walker Mason, Grade 5, Milbrook Elementary School
- Ethan Weisberg, Grade 8, Hereford Middle School
Each of these students will be awarded a $1,000 college scholarship and will be recognized during a regional awards banquet to be held on Sunday, April 30, at Martin’s West in Windsor Mill. Also celebrated at that banquet will be the 32 BCPS students who have renewed their Carson Scholar status by maintaining high academic standards and continuing to engage in community service. Nationally, 823 students renewed their Carson Scholar status.
