Towson University Basketball Player Teams Up With Local Bagel Shop In Exciting NIL Partnership

A Towson University basketball player is set to cash in on his exceptional skills with a recently signed NIL deal.

Christian May, a guard/forward for the Towson Tigers men's basketball team, scored his first NIL deal with Bagel Works, a family-owned bagel shop in Hunt Valley. Since 2021, the NIL program has allowed collegiate athletes like May to profit off their name, image, and likeness (NIL), similarly to professional players.

In an interview with CBS, May said he is proud to represent a local company.

"Being able to come in here and talk to them, have great conversations, great food, it just feels amazing to be able to collaborate with a company like this," May said. "Obviously, I'm looking forward to being a part of Bagel Works, being able to promote their brand. Coming in here. Having a good time with them anytime. Yeah, I'm just looking forward to all of that."

May was a solid contributor during his first season with the Tigers, averaging 4.0 ppg with 2.5 rpg in 15.5 minutes per game. He shot 45 percent from the floor and 39 percent from three with 11 blocks.

The budding basketball star will join dozens of other Towson athletes who are making money from their exceptional skills.
