Bookstore Cafes

Bookstore cafes are back! Readings and Greetings, Borders, Waldenbooks all lost.

Bookstore Barnes & Noble will be expanding its presence in the region, having signed on for a lease in the Lutherville-Timonium area.

The popular bookseller chain will be setting up shop at the planned Lutherville Station development.

It will be taking over the space once occupied by the former Borders bookstore, according to The Banner. Borders closed after the chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2011.

Mark Renbaum, principal of Lutherville Station LLC, said in a post that "a bookstore and cafe like this does more than fill space - it creates a place people want to spend time."

He further described the development as an "exciting step" for the Lutherville project.

Just as it is an expansion for the Lutherville-Timonium community, the move also signals positive growth for the bookseller, as it has opened multiple locations over the last year.
