ANUMGBA’S 25 POINTS LEAD TOWSON WOMEN’S BASKETBALL OVER WILLIAM & MARY

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's basketball team welcomed the William & Mary Tribe to TU Arena on Sunday afternoon. The Tigers (10-6, 3-3 CAA) were victorious over the Tribe (8-9, 4-2 CAA) 80-64.

Patricia Anumgba had a team-high 25 points, going 8-of-11 (72.7%) from the floor. India Johnston finished with 19 points off the bench.

Key Stats vs William & Mary:

The Tigers totaled a season-high 38 bench points.
Towson finished with 15 assists for the third time this season.
The Tigers won the rebounding battle 47-29.
Towson shot 46.7% from the floor, the second highest total this season.

How It Happened vs William & Mary:

The first quarter started with both teams trading baskets with the Tribe having a 7-4 edge.
The teams continued to go back and forth before Towson went on a 9-2 run led by India Johnston's five points to take a 19-12 advantage heading into the second quarter.
The Tigers continued where they left off and opened the second quarter with a 9-2 run to stretch the lead to 12.
William & Mary cut the lead down to eight midway through the second quarter.
Towson closed out the quarter on a 12-4 run led by Patricia Anumgba's nine points to take a 41-25 edge into the locker room.
The third quarter started with the teams trading baskets with the Tribe cutting the deficit to 12.
The Tigers responded with a 9-1 run to extend the advantage to 20 with 3:32 remaining in the third.
The teams went back and forth, but Anasia Staton hit a mid-range jumper as time expired to give Towson a 63-41 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
The teams traded early baskets to start the fourth quarter, but a 7-3 run grew Towson's lead to 24 with 6:12 remaining.
The Tigers maintained a consistent lead until the end of the fourth quarter when the Tribe went on a 10-2 run to reach the final score of 80-64.

Anasia Staton had a season-high ten points off the bench.
Kayla Morris grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds and had a season-high four blocks.
Kylie Kornegay-Lucas totaled a season-high 13 rebounds while adding three assists and three steals.
Towson is 8-0 when they finish with more bench points.

The Tigers host Maryland Eastern Shore on Jan. 24th at 6 p.m. in the continuation of the Nov. 21st game that was suspended. The game will be streamed on FloHoops.
