TOWSON Md. – The Towson University women's basketball team hosted the College of Charleston Cougars on Sunday afternoon. The Tigers (12-8, 4-5 CAA) were victorious over the Cougars (14-6, 6-3 CAA) 66-59 on Alumnae/Women in Sports Day.

Alexia Nelson had a season-high 18 points, knocking down three triples, while Kylie Kornegay-Lucas finished with 20 points, six rebounds and a season-high four blocks.

• Charleston's Taryn Barbot finished the quarter on a 5-2 run to trim Towson's lead to 14-12 going into the second quarter.
• Taiye Johnson opened the second quarter with back-to-back baskets, but the Cougars went on a 7-0 run to take a 22-19 lead.
• The teams went back and forth, exchanging baskets with a late Kylie Kornegay-Lucas three-pointer giving Towson a 31-30 edge going into halftime.
• Alexia Nelson knocked down two triples to extend the lead to seven early in the third quarter.
• The team continued to battle back and forth with the Cougars cutting their deficit to three after a Jenna Annecchiarico three-pointer.
