TOWSON FOOTBALL GRADUATE CALEB SMITH AMONG FIRST LOOK CONTESTANTS FOR ABC’S THE BACHELORETTE

TOWSON, Md. – Towson University graduate and former football standout Caleb Smith may be competing on the 21st season of ABC's The Bachelorette as the show announced its first look contestants for the upcoming season.

Smith was announced as one of 28 men who will look to compete on the Bachelorette in the 21st season on the show's Facebook page with Caleb going by his nickname Moze. The contestants will be looking to win the heart of Jenn Tran, a physician's assistant from Miami.

The 21st season of The Bachelorette will air on ABC this summer. Each of the episodes in season 20 drew at least 1.7 million viewers during the summer of 2023.

While at Towson, Smith played 31 games for the Tigers at wide receiver, earning All-CAA Third Team honors in his final year in 2021 as Towson's leader in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. The Albany, New York native finished his Towson career with 95 receptions for 1,251 yards and six touchdowns from 2017-21. In 2019, he earned a nine-catch, 200-yard performance in a victory versus Delaware to earn STATS FCS Honorable Mention National Offensive Player of the Week.

Since his Towson days, Smith has played professional football for the Iowa Barnstormers in the Indoor Football League. In 2023, he made 43 receptions for 463 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Smith has strong roots with Towson, being the son of Towson Athletics Hall of Fame football player Rodney Smith.
