Pedestrian safety is a significant community concern. As such, the Baltimore County Police Department reminds drivers and pedestrians to be mindful of each other especially after sunset. Over a recent five-day span, the Baltimore County Police Crash Team has responded to the scene of four fatal pedestrian crashes. Three of those four crashes occurred during the evening or early morning hours.
A notable spike in pedestrian accidents occurred from November 7 to 11, 2023. During this short span, police responded to several serious cases, including fatal crashes at various intersections: Pulaski Highway and Chesaco Avenue, Owings Mills Boulevard near I-795, Reisterstown Road and Tollgate Road, and Harford Road and Onyx Road.
The date, time and location of the crashes are listed below.
- 11/07/24 at 5:30 p.m. Pulaski Highway and Chesaco Avenue
- 11/08/24 at 4:30 a.m. Owings Mills Blvd and I-795
- 11/10/24 at 2:20 p.m. Reisterstown and Tollgate roads
- 11/11/24 at 11:20 p.m. Harford and Onyx roads
To reduce that risk and increase awareness, the Baltimore County Police Department offers the following safety tips to motorists and pedestrians.
