Limited volunteer opportunities remain for 2025 BMW Championship in Baltimore

OWINGS MILLS, Md. — Registration for volunteer positions at the 2025 BMW Championship is available online now, and championship officials are encouraging interested fans to sign up soon.

More than 2,000 volunteers will play a critical role in the event’s much-anticipated return to iconic Caves Valley Golf Club on Aug. 12-17, 2025. With excitement building in the wake of the successful 2021 BMW Championship in Baltimore, the Western Golf Association expects the limited number of remaining volunteer positions to be filled quickly.

Volunteers play an important role at the BMW Championship, performing key tasks inside and outside the ropes while making it possible for the championship to raise funds for its sole beneficiary, the Evans Scholars Foundation. Responsibilities include welcoming thousands of patrons each day, assisting corporate hospitality guests, interacting with players and caddies, distributing real-time scoring and statistical data and operating the merchandise tent.

“The tireless work of our volunteer corps is part of what makes the BMW Championship a world-class event,” said Vince Pellegrino, WGA senior vice president of tournaments. “We’re fortunate to have experienced, enthusiastic fans in Baltimore. The demand we’ve already seen gives us confidence that we’re headed for another incredible championship that will raise critical funds for youth caddie scholarships.”

Volunteers will be asked to purchase an official uniform package for $220. Valued at more than $750, the package includes the following premium items:

Two Peter Millar golf shirts
One Peter Millar outerwear piece
One hat or visor
One clear BMW Championship-branded bag
One volunteer credential, valid for entry all week
An exclusive ticket discount
Food and beverages available on the days you volunteer

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old except for standard bearers, who must be at least 16 years old. Volunteers are asked to commit to working at least three shifts during tournament week. Shifts range from 4-6 hours, depending on assignment.

Proceeds from the BMW Championship benefit the Evans Scholars Foundation and its mission of awarding full tuition and housing college scholarships to deserving youth caddies. Since 2007, the event has raised more than $50 million for caddie scholarships. The 2021 championship raised a record $5.6 million, paving the way for the Foundation to establish a new chapter at the University of Maryland and award more Evans Scholarships to young men and women from Maryland.

As the penultimate event of the PGA TOUR’s FedExCup Playoffs, the BMW Championship will host the top 50 players in the FedExCup standings as they compete for the J.K. Wadley Trophy and a spot in the season-ending TOUR Championship. Recent champions include Keegan Bradley, Viktor Hovland and Patrick Cantlay, who won at Caves Valley Golf Club in 2021.
