Elvis at 90: Decade-by-decade milestones in the life — and afterlife — of the King

When Graceland representatives slice into an elaborate cake in a public ceremony on Jan. 8, 2025, the cuts might be hashmarks counting down a noteworthy milestone in the chronology of Elvis Presley: the 90th anniversary of the birth of the man known as the King of Rock 'n' Roll.

ELVIS BIRTHDAY PROCLAMATION CEREMONY

8:30 am. North Lawn, Graceland Mansion.
Free to the public.
Elvis' Birthday Celebration officially kicks off with our annual proclamation ceremony on the front lawn of Graceland. Featuring a larger-than-life birthday cake to honor the King of Rock 'n' Roll, the proclamation of Elvis Presley Day is read by Memphis and Shelby County officials. Fans who are unable to attend can watch the ceremony online for free via Graceland's Vimeo page. WATCH HERE

90 for 90 birthday exhibit opens

Graceland's new 90 for 90 Exhibit opens in celebration of Elvis' birthday. This yearlong exhibit will feature 90 curated artifacts, specially chosen from the over 1.5 million artifacts housed at Graceland, that provide unique insight into both key moments in Elvis’ professional journey and the more personal aspects of his life. Be among the first to explore this new exhibition!
