Friends School of Baltimore and Goucher announce a multi-faceted partnership including guaranteed admissions program

This collaboration offers Friends School students access to a guaranteed admission program and significant financial support through merit-based scholarships, while opening the door for Goucher to attract a diverse cohort of academically talented, well-rounded students.

Two of Baltimore’s most respected educational institutions, Friends School of Baltimore and Goucher College, are joining forces in an exciting new partnership that promises to create transformative opportunities for families and students. Against the backdrop of rising postsecondary tuition costs, this collaboration offers Friends School students significant financial support through merit-based scholarships while opening the door for Goucher College to attract a diverse cohort of academically talented, well-rounded students. This dynamic, multi-faceted partnership is designed to strengthen the longstanding relationship between two institutions dedicated to academic excellence and innovation.

Key elements of the partnership include:

Guaranteed Admission Program: Friends School students in good academic standing, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher will automatically be admitted to Goucher College, along with a $32,000 annual merit scholarship. Additional merit-based scholarships and financial aid opportunities are available, making higher education more accessible to eligible students. This program recognizes the strong academic foundation and character development instilled in Friends School students, preparing them to excel in Goucher’s rigorous academic environment. This program has already started with students in the Class of 2025.
Continued Collaboration with Goucher Faculty: Friends School students will continue to engage with Goucher College faculty, with plans to increase the frequency of these interactions, enriching learning experiences across both campuses. This program is ongoing.
Graduate Tuition Discounts for Faculty and Staff: Friends School faculty and staff will receive a 20% discount on Goucher College graduate tuition, in addition to the 75% graduate tuition assistance already provided by Friends School for employees to pursue graduate degrees. This benefit acknowledges the talent, dedication, and commitment to the ongoing professional development of Friends School’s faculty and staff, whose expertise and commitment drive student success. Coming Fall of 2025.
Dual Enrollment: In the future, the partnership could allow Friends School students to enroll in Goucher courses to earn college credit.

This initiative builds on a rich history of collaboration between the two institutions. Friends School has sent many graduates to Goucher College and, over the decades, the partnership has included unique opportunities such as Friends students joining Goucher faculty in classes and participating in the renowned Russian Olympiada.
