Baltimore County man wins $30,000 Keno prize on his birthday

PARKTON, Md. — A Baltimore County man who plays the same Keno numbers just once a year—on his birthday—hit a $30,000 jackpot when his sentimental combination finally came through.
The longtime player, a mechanic, purchased his 5-spot Keno ticket for four games at High’s on Middletown Road. He told lottery officials he had never expected his birthday numbers to win.
“I played these numbers for sentimental reasons. I never, ever thought any of them would come out on my birthday,” he said.
The lucky winner, who previously won $12,000 in Keno, was celebrating with his girlfriend when he checked the numbers on his lottery app. He initially thought he had made a mistake before confirming the win.
“The birthday party got a second wind after that,” he said.
The unexpected jackpot turned a birthday tradition into a life-changing celebration.
