BCPS summer breakfast, lunch program to begin on June 23
TOWSON, MD—Baltimore County Public Schools will offer free breakfast and lunch meals every weekday through the Summer Food Service Program beginning Monday, June 23, through Friday, August 15 (with the exception of Friday, July 4). Free meals are available for all children ages 2-18.
There are several ways to access free summer meals for eligible children:
Organized Program Sites
BCPS provides meals to more than 300 programs each summer throughout Baltimore County, including summer camps, daycare programs, sports teams, religious groups, and others. Programs must have 25 or more children participating each day, and they must register for BCPS to deliver the meals.
Local Library Sites
All children ages 2-18 may visit any participating Baltimore County Public Library branch to enjoy lunch each weekday (except Friday, July 4). These meals must be consumed on site. This year, 16 library branches will offer the meals at the following times:
Summer Meals TO-GO
Families can register for weekly meal boxes containing five days’ supply of breakfast and lunch meals. Families only need to register their children once for the entire summer; once registered, families will receive a confirmation email to use when picking up meals each week.
Meal boxes may be picked up in “drive-through” style on Tuesdays at two locations – Hereford High School (8-8:30 a.m.) and Carroll Manor Elementary School (12-12:30 p.m.) – and on Thursdays at Kingsville Elementary School (12-12:30 p.m.)
BCPS Summer School
All students attending summer school this year from July 7-31 will receive free breakfast and lunch each day Monday through Thursday. There is no registration needed for the meals; all children enrolled in summer school will receive free meals.
