The Hunt Valley Business Forum, a group comprised of nearly 600 members and 150 member companies and individuals with interests in the greater Hunt Valley business community, has appointed Krista Darrell as its new Executive Director. She brings more than 20 years of directly-related business, marketing communications, operations, and entrepreneurial experience to this position.
In her new role, Darrell will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the business organization with a focus on growing the corporate and individual membership base, elevating the stature and visibility of the group before its key stakeholders and external audiences, managing all legislative and public policy initiatives, formulating and executing special event and educational programming, and positioning the Hunt Valley Business Forum as a trusted network that brings consistent value to its membership. Darrell will also interact and collaborate with the forum’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee.
“I have been a member of the Hunt Valley Business Forum for several years, and was originally drawn to its intentional and member-centered approach, a structure that felt more personal, purpose-driven, and effective,” Darrell explained. “My background in applicable leadership and consulting roles – requiring strategic thinking, creative communication, and a people-first mindset – has provided me with experience in consensus-building and directing professionals in the same direction to achieve common goals.”
Darrell added that she intends to collaborate with leadership and membership of the Hunt Valley Business Forum before embarking on the next set of objectives, but intends to focus on initiatives which facilitate member engagement including intentional programming which aligns with the evolving business goals of its membership.
“The Hunt Valley Business Forum has made tremendous strides in influencing public policy issues which impact every business and organization in the Hunt Valley area, as well as drawing attention to the region and its varied stakeholders, and the addition of Krista Darrell provides us with the best opportunity to maintain this momentum and provide meaningful value to our constituents,” stated Danielle Beyrodt, Chairperson of the HVBF Board of Directors and Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Hill Management Services.
“The Baltimore County businesses environment is becoming increasingly challenging and competitive, with threats emerging from a variety of known and new sources,” she added. “Maintaining a strong, effective and respected coalition of businesses and business leaders represents a unique opportunity to preserve the vitality of the Hunt Valley submarket, as well as attract new resources and energy that benefits area stakeholders.”
