Baltimore County Chess Championship
A day of intense critical thinking, great sportsmanship, team bonding, and FUN

On Saturday, April 25, twenty-eight schools competed in the Baltimore County Chess Championship at Stemmers Run Middle School.
It was a day of intense critical thinking, great sportsmanship, team bonding, and a lot of FUN!
The BCPS Chess community would like to thank Scott Lamb and his company, Treadwell LLC, for sponsoring the tournament!

In the elementary school division, Perry Hall Elementary captured the county championship, and Essex Elementary earned 2nd place. The top six elementary school players were in 6th place Excellence Haruna (Cromwell Valley Elementary), 5th place Yuuki White (Chatsworth Elementary), 4th place Dante Duran (Essex Elementary), 3rd place Noah Milano (Perry Hall Elementary), 2nd place Liev Ronzhes (Fort Garrison Elementary), and the county champion was Nathan Leudeu from Hampton Elementary!

In the middle school division, Ridgely Middle captured the county championship, and Hereford Middle earned 2nd place. The top six middle school players were in 6th place Mason Prush (Hereford Middle), 5th place Tino Kamphinda (Ridgely Middle), 4th place Michael Lotz (Ridgely Middle), 3rd place Alex Gritsan (Dumbarton Middle), 2nd place Kayilan Nirmal (Ridgely Middle), and the county champion was Authur Xu from Hereford Middle!
In the high school division, Towson High captured the county championship, and Eastern Tech High earned 2nd place. The top six high school players were in 6th place Andrew Kelly (Eastern Tech High), 5th place Josue Jules (Loch Raven High), 4th place Abraham Shalby (Eastern Tech High), 3rd place Steve Ma (Towson High), 2nd place Weston Justis (Towson High), and the county champion was Elliott Wonderlich from Towson High!
