Baltimore County to Recognize Winners of 2026 Clean Green 15 Litter Challenge

Baltimore County Executive Kathy Klausmeier will join Baltimore County Public Schools, the Education Foundation of BCPS, and community partners celebrated the 12th annual Clean Green 15 Litter Challenge and recognize 29 winning schools for their efforts to keep Baltimore County communities clean.

This year's challenge set new records, with 832 cleanups conducted by 7,782 volunteers who collected 3,654 bags of litter and removed more than 45,715 pounds of trash from neighborhoods, parks, streams, and roadways throughout Baltimore County. Winning schools will share more than $40,000 in environmental prizes to support school-based environmental projects and STEM resources.

The Clean Green 15 Litter Challenge encourages schools and communities to organize litter cleanups and environmental stewardship projects throughout the school year. Co-hosted by Baltimore County, Baltimore County Public Schools, and the Education Foundation of BCPS, the challenge helps reduce litter, protect local waterways, and engage students in hands-on environmental learning.
