On Thursday, Towson will become the home to Maryland’s first Raising Cane's restaurant. Raising Cane’s will be located at 4 Towsontown Blvd near Towson University and the Whole Foods at Towson Row.
The grand opening and official ribbon-cutting ceremony are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12.
Raising Cane's is also hosting a “Lucky 20” drawing on Thursday between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m., where 20 lucky customers ages 13 and older will win Free Cane's for a Year!
The ceremony will feature live music from local DJs from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. while Cane's giveaways are awarded. Raising Cane's will also donate $1,000 to the Towson High School Booster Club, helping them pay for uniforms and equipment for the school's extracurricular activities.
The Towson spot is the first of more than a dozen locations that the Texas-based chain plans to open in greater Baltimore over the next few years. Locations in Gambrills and Westminister are expected to follow in March and the chain has also signed leases in Annapolis, Baltimore City, Bel Air, Columbia, Glen Burnie, Parkville, Linthicum Heights and Timonium.
Gambrills and Westminister will both have drive-thru options and Raising Cane's usually hires 100 to 200 employees per location, with pay starting at $15 an hour. The company said it is still hiring for the Towson spot.
