The Baltimore County Police Department proudly announces its sesquicentennial anniversary, marking 150 years of dedication to public safety and community service. Established on April 11, 1874, the Baltimore County Police Department has evolved over the past century and a half to become the 21st largest police department in the nation.

Headquarters has been abuzz  with preparations for the celebration and ceremony commemorating the department's 150th anniversary,

As we reflect upon our 150 years of history, the Baltimore County Police department celebrates its members past and present. For a time, officers used to hand out trading cards (like the one shown here) when interacting with community members. The Department's first helicopter took to the air in 1990.

To celebrate the anniversary, the department in partnership with the Baltimore County Police Foundation, and Corrigan Sports will host the “Every Hour Every Day 5K” Run/Walk!

Taking place on May 11th at 9 am, the race course starts and finishes at the Public Safety Building (700 E. Joppa Rd, Towson). Every registered participant will receive a specially designed Under Armour T-Shirt and a specially designed 150th Anniversary Finisher Medal.
