Tuba Thieves Virtual Screening

June 3, 2024 07:00 PM

What is the role of sound? What does it mean to listen? Hard of hearing filmmaker Alison O’Daniel uses a series of tuba thefts in Los Angeles high schools as a jumping-off point to explore these questions. Through several d/Deaf people telling stories in a unique game of telephone, the central mystery of The Tuba Thieves isn’t about theft of instruments; it’s about the nature of sound itself.

Join MPT on Monday, June 3 at 7pm to view Tuba Thieves, an unconventional documentary unlike any you’ve ever seen!

We will be joined by Rosa Lee Timm and Warren "WAWA" Snipe, both performing artists and members of the deaf community in the DMV. Don't miss this unique documentary screening experience.
