Welcome to the lovely and very underrated Martinak State Park. Just two miles east of Denton, it's located along Rte. 404.
This beautiful land comprised of fields, marsh, and forest was deeded to the state in 1961 by George Martinak. It was his wish that the area could be enjoyed for years to come.

The park is a popular spot for fishing as it's situated near both the Choptank River and Watts Creek.
You'll also spot a variety of wildlife -- keep your eyes peeled for bald eagle
In addition to water access, amenities at the park include a playground, nature center, hiking trails, and a campground.
Visitors agree that the campground facilities are well-maintained. There are 63 sites to choose from, all of which include a camping pad, fire ring, and picnic table.
There are also camper cabins available, including four 4-person cabins and two 6-person cabins.
