Because of the nature of this terrible situation involving my Cousin I do not believe it is appropriate to hold my fundraising event scheduled for this Thursday at Hayfields. Unfortunately, we cannot comment on news reports regarding Luigi Mangione. We only know what we have read in the media. Our family is shocked and devastated by Luigi’s arrest. He is a leader in the effort to stop electrical transmission power lines being built in Hunt Valley and other pristine areas in 3 local counties to provide power for the state of Virginia.

Mangione says: "Very clearly Marylanders have been lied to from the start. The Maryland Piedmont Reliability Project does not have a damn thing to do with a reliable electrical grid in Maryland…It is all for Virginia data centers. Now that this flat out lie has been exposed I want to again urge the Public Service Commission and Governor Moore to oppose this project.

These out of state companies are coming to Maryland to destroy our farmland, communities, economy, and environment with an unneeded project exclusively to benefit Virginia. Worse yet, they have decided to lie to elected officials and the citizens they represent about their true intentions.We must continue our opposition and stop the MPRP! I am ready for this fight!"
